Large quantities of poultry breeds and eggs of unknown origin were discovered and seized

On the afternoon of June 13, according to information from the Lang Son Provincial Police, the Economic Police Department (under the Provincial Police) discovered and seized a large quantity of poultry breeds and eggs of unknown origin.

On June 13 at around 1 a.m., in the area of Provincial Road 226, Pac Luong Hamlet, De Tham Com

mune, Trang Dinh District, a task force from the Anti-Smuggling Unit of the Economic Police Department under the Lang Son Provincial Police discovered a suspicious truck bearing license plate number 11C-063.32, suspected of transporting smuggled goods.

Upon inspection, authorities found 60 plastic crates on the truck, containing a total of 6,000 ducklings.

Mr. Trieu Xuan Kiem, the driver, and Mr. Trieu Vi Linh, a passenger (both residing in Quang Hoa District, Cao Bang Province), failed to present invoices, documents proving the origin, or animal quarantine certificates for the poultry as required by regulations.

Mr. Kiem admitted to purchasing the ducklings from an unknown woman in Tri Phuong Commune, Trang Dinh District, and was transporting them to Binh Gia District, Lang Son Province, for resale.

The Lang Son Provincial Economic Police Department made an official report and temporarily seized the vehicle along with all relevant goods for further investigation.

Earlier, on the evening of June 5, at Km 16+500 on National Highway 4A, in Area 3 of Na Sam Town, Van Lang District, a joint task force from the Anti-Smuggling Unit of the Economic Police Department, Road Traffic Police Unit No. 2, the Traffic Police Department, and the Technical and Professional Department of the Provincial Police conducted an inspection of two suspicious trucks.

The first truck, license plate 89C-278.68, was driven by Mr. H.V.T (born in 1985), and the second, license plate 12C-124.01, was driven by Mr. D.V.T (born in 1987), both residents of Trang Dinh District.

Upon inspection, authorities discovered that the two trucks were carrying a total of 100 crates of poultry eggs, estimated at about 24,000 eggs.

The drivers admitted they were hired by Ms. Nong Thi Hau, residing in Bo Luong Hamlet, Quoc Khanh Commune, Trang Dinh District, to transport the goods to Bac Giang Province for sale. However, neither the drivers nor the consignors were able to provide invoices or documentation verifying the origin of the goods.
